On the trail of James & Oz

The date : 11 April
The venue : Sheffield station
The purpose : to follow in the steps of James May & Oz Clarke on their Rail Ale Tour.

Footnote : the Warrington Beer Festival Committee would be joining us - purely for "research purposes"

The 11.36 to Huddersfield - where does that go from? 2B or not 2B?

2B

First port of call - Huddersfield

We will be working up a head of steam here!

Cliff and his "team" were already waiting for us at Stalybridge

It's just gone 2.30 and our train is at 3.20, so let's have another beer!

The "research team"

Some formation walking
(with thanks to the Croft Formation Drinking Team for the idea)

We know where you are going, Owen

Some more formation walkers

Where are we, Angela?

Dewsbury, of course

We then returned to Huddersfield for some more ale and a meal at The Head of Steam.

We used a South Pennine Day Ranger ticket which allowed us unlimited travel on the Northern Rail lines between Sheffield, Wakefield, Leeds and Manchester - all for £14

  1. I see that CAMRA has a legit "RAIL ALE" rival now. Where next?
